The TETO collective develops its work in an environment of sharing, free experimentation and dilution of interdisciplinary boundaries, with the intention of investigating in depth possible tools common to the languages of dance and music.
The TETO collective does both practical research in the context of an artistic residency and theoretical reflection on the contents explored, constantly putting proposals from a theoretical point of view in dialogue with the act of creating kinetic and sound elements.

Geometrias da sintonia — uma investigação sobre ferramentas de improvisação transversais à dança e à música a partir do trabalho do coletivo TETO – by Joana Franco
Geometrias da sintonia explores a set of improvisation tools developed by the collective TETO (Joana Franco, João Gato, Lara Maia and Samuel Dias), with the aim of proposing a symbiotic relationship between dance and music in the context of artistic research in the studio.
Firstly, some characteristics of improvisation in dance and music are introduced, later developed in a section on the “instant composition” tool. Next, the concept of transversality is addressed, that is, the common understanding of concepts inherent to the practice of dance and music, analyzed through the “graph”. In the third chapter, we talk about the temporality of performative actions, concluding with the sharing of the experience of the “monotony” tool.
Finally, the concept of effort is presented, using the example of the “theme and variation” tool to deepen its practical application.
